What is NRMAA?

The National Reverse Mortgage Appraisers Association was established in 2007 to ensure real estate appraisers are serving the needs of older Americans. While all licensed and certified appraisers are required to comply with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, our members go beyond the minimum by complying with our Code of Ethics and must pass a test covering basic appraisal techniques; USPAP, FHA standards and basic reverse mortgage program questions.

Why should I join NRMAA?

Requirements to earn a Designation: Each potential member must be a Certified appraiser and be listed on the National Registry as having current valid certification. Each member who meets our requirements and passes our test can become a Certified Reverse Mortgage Appraiser (CRMA).

Education: Each member will receive a 15% discount for online continuing education with McKissock 100% Education. This benefit alone can pay for your membership!

Marketing: As a Certified Reverse Mortgage Appraiser (CRMA) you can use our logo on your marketing material and web site. The NRMAA logo will show the reverse mortgage community that you are a professional and understand the reverse mortgage customers. In addition, our marketing department publishes a newsletter to over 4,000 reverse mortgage lenders each month with news and information.

NRMAA News: We keep you informed of changes and news in the reverse mortgage industry and the appraisal industry. We are in the process of creating a user forum for our members to discuss appraisals issues and just chat with other appraisers around the nation.
